| alpha May 6, 2005 09:20 AM PDT pallavi: good to know it happens everywhere.:) | ||
| Pallavi May 5, 2005 11:48 PM PDT put it down to selective memory... LOLOL .. kids are never satisfied.. they always have the knack of asking for the unattainable and as soon as they get it.. they become bored.. my niece was like that... been there done that... I learnt not to take them to the toy shop very soon.. and started getting them gifts on my own.. so I dont run the risk of being molested... and embarassed... LOL... and yes if you have two similar age kids with you... siblings, cousins who will see each other's gifts, it is an unwritten rule that you have to get them the same gift.... LOLOL.. I have this problem with another two nieces of mine... Sheesh... and they are years apart from each other... but the little one always demands for the same color same size same blah blah of what the elder one gets.... go figure this sibling rivalry... SIGH... | ||
| alpha May 2, 2005 01:38 PM PDT ANTI: Nahiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin...lets talk about dates... and scrabble. | ||
| aNTi May 2, 2005 01:13 PM PDT *takes the hint and decides to go back to the "no-comments" state :( | ||
| alpha May 2, 2005 10:48 AM PDT Anti: No, not that date re..You know the ones you get from palm trees in dessert areas. I really don't know why I am having this juvenile convesation with you. Star: hah! That's an awesome idea...if there is a possibility that he isn't checking this blog and has already severed connections with me..what with my whole family knowing I blog. | ||
| star May 2, 2005 09:55 AM PDT Ahh .... common enough policy. But what you should have done is phoned GC Bhaiya and tell him that you found little Hurricane Baby's soft-toy in RC's house (that she probably left there by mistake- and you know how much Hurricane baby loved her Dumbo soft-toy) and ask if he would like you to get it back for him! | ||
| aNTi May 2, 2005 09:38 AM PDT Date? Woh kya hotha hai? Do I tear a page from my daily calendar and take it to the ice cream parlor? Discount milega kya? | ||
| alpha May 2, 2005 09:08 AM PDT Anumita, TF: doesn't matter people..as long as some kid is enjoying it. And we dont even know what he said when he gave that soft-toy to the other kid. Maybe he said it was used...or maybe Toofan saw GC's kid playing with it and demanded it. I'll never let past anything by anyone. Angel: LOl, I know..nice trump card I have. | ||
| Angel May 2, 2005 06:20 AM PDT Now that ought to make you feel better about penny pinching and now the holi could be plauyed with GC bhaiya's true colours :phew just saved: :) | ||
| Angel May 2, 2005 06:20 AM PDT Now that ought to make you feel better about penny pinching and now the holi could be plauyed with GC bhaiya's true colours :phew just saved: :) | ||
| Ramana May 2, 2005 04:28 AM PDT No words to describe it..really. | ||
| Twilight Fairy May 2, 2005 03:10 AM PDT That was bad of GC! kids will be kids.. their attention span is so short.. they'll probably get over the very thing they were screaming for an instant back.. I guess the best is food, some good rides in disneyland or something.. :p :) | ||
| anumita May 2, 2005 12:47 AM PDT So mean! So mean! It was really cheap of GC to gift a used thing to RC's kid (used thing being your gift is a coincidence)!!! | ||
| alpha May 1, 2005 08:33 PM PDT patrix: didn't bother finding out..also Pi thinks GC got a similar one from Disney Store for Toofan..hmmm... Pi is too naive. Anti: Stop this kid business and try taking a date out for icecream. Rhyncus: ha! She has already figured things out as you can see. Ashwin: Great idea..Next time I'll even engrave toofan's name for mnaking it a little more personal. Thennavan: Thanks for the musical score for all my posts. if I ever direct a movie, you'll be the music director. AmitL: Yeah, I'm telling you this whole cheapness runs in the family. Gabby: Yes of course I recycle smartly..you don't even part with gifts that you buy intending it for someone..hee hee.. That Diamong earrings you bought for me, you ended up keeping it.:( Suds: Hopes da! | ||
| suds May 1, 2005 06:54 AM PDT Alphi maami! Indha kozhandai ku enna vaangi thara porel unga ooruku varappo? :p dont worry..doesnt look like it's happening in the near future! :) | ||
| Gabby May 1, 2005 12:06 AM PDT Hee Hee! So tell me sweetie, you never recycle gifts yourself right? ;) (Think carefully now) LOL at Rhynus's comment! | ||
| AmitL April 30, 2005 10:22 PM PDT LOL.Twin,there's always something to be grateful for-in this case, the fact that you coerced them into accepting a 'smaller'(pocketwise) toy than the 'elephantine'original Mickey Mousey ones.:) I guess such memories,when recounted, always make one aware of the fun part of life.(As for me, I have to jog my memory to recount such events,to be honest.) | ||
| thennavan April 30, 2005 08:22 PM PDT Alpha, you should have told the bawling child (at the mall): "Rona, Kabhi Nahin Rona Chaahe Toot Jaaye, Koi Khilona, Khilona Sona, Chupke Se Sona Chaahe Toot Jaaye, Sapna Salona, Salona" :-) | ||
| Ashwin April 30, 2005 04:20 PM PDT Next time you want to give RC's kid something..just gift it to GC's kid :). | ||
| Rhyncus April 30, 2005 12:56 PM PDT The little girl must be told that "I want that dumbo" is not a very good policy statement for the future. | ||
| aNTi April 30, 2005 12:11 PM PDT That is why, my idea of engaging young children is to take them to the neighborhood Baskin Robbins and indulge myself along with them. Not too heavy on the wallet or the brain. Kids are happy, I am happy and the ppl who look at me handling a couple of kids with ease in this young age are definitely impressed! Well, all this is what I'd do and have done...Alpha bua, aap samajdhari ki baath suniye, Ravi bete se! | ||
| Patrix April 30, 2005 12:02 PM PDT Recycling taken to a new level...or is it just across-the-seas hand-me-downs? But taking credit for dil-daari is not fair. | ||
| alpha April 30, 2005 11:57 AM PDT babblefih: Forgave him a while ago. The only thing that bugged me was when I couldn't say, 'Nonsense! It was bua who gave it to you..indirectly. Not Chachu!' Shakes head in disbelief at your story!! That's unpardonable.. Moral of story- give it to watchman in the neighbor building after dyeing the bag...never your own watchman. Emotionally immature. LOL! | ||
| babblefish April 30, 2005 11:37 AM PDT Well... may be GC doesn't earn that much after all. You could open a fund for him. After you have forgiven him that is. You give someone something and you find it being used for something else (like your granny watching both the TVs. LOL.) I plead guilty of doing some thing like that. My boss came back from France with a T-shirt and a bag for me. The bag was like what we like to carry vegetables from the mandi (my boss is not a blogger or at least I hope not) and sure enough a week later my boss found the watchman bringing his tiffin dabba in his French bag. I was told leave the job, as I was emotionally immature. | ||
| alpha April 30, 2005 10:19 AM PDT You again? Is there a way I can repent for making you go through this? Thanks for crediting me with some talent. You know, I enjoyed writing this...strangely enough, i love torturing my readers.:) btw, you seem to be my ardent fan, hanging out and taking time to comment. *honored* *pichle janam ka punya and all* | ||
| would-rather-be-anonymous. April 30, 2005 10:08 AM PDT BC, this one is ok. but not that funny! I see a forced attempt at humor. given your talent for writing you could have done better. -He who would rather remain anonymous | ||
