Shivom" Thanks..they better be good..nahin tho no ad!

Aar: Yeah actually I liked her simplicity. Told u i didnt have a problem with that. Patel boy was another thing..

Fairy: Lol at your experience.

Suds: Have a pizza.

Star: Too bad that I spoilt it for you... you missed out on enjoying a wonderful book (doesn’t concern me too much). I know not how to review books as I haven’t done it earlier nor had any inclination to. I hate reading someone's views about a book before I read it. I only appreciate a suggestion, so I can imagine if you feel like saying not-so-nice things.
‘A book review, by definition, is an evaluation or discussion of a new book.’ Doesn’t mean you are only supposed to mysteriously allude to the prolific nature of the book and not give away the story. Doesn’t mean it cannot be a synopsis.

Again, I maintain that I didn’t give away the plot of the book or make it unworthy of a read. I am just glad that I read it..Thats all!

I read this "review" on the first day and didnt have anything nice to say, so decided not to say anything. But today- I'm bored, and you're going to bear the price for that. I have taken your previous book suggestion to heart (I purchased and read DVC- and enjoyed it) However, this post is more of a synopsis and less of a review. The review part is all of one paragraph at the bottom. The synopsis gives away most the plot and doesnt incite me to read the book anymore.

On another note, you should read Angels & Demons (by Dan Brown) ... its horrific amazing and I think you'll like it.

Do review books- dont synopsize them so much though.

I would have typed this up and faxed it to you- but I have an abnormal fear of fax machines now.

Nice review...
Plain english? Then midnight's children must be at the top of your bookshelf. Maybe you can ask the girl in Toronto whether Patel really exists, she can spend some time researching that instead of faxing people. hmmm... don't give her my fax number, okay?

Liz: Sorry, didnt pay attention. When you talk before you listen..this is what happens. Yeah man! That little Patel boy imagined stuff..I'm not kidding. But great imagination...no stones unturned.

Well, I know very very few people who were like..what the heck was that I actually read?! Undecided. Many like you loved it. Oh well, I guess each one to his own.

Tigress in Pi's life..good one..but alas no..no scope of actually running away.

Ok agreed, I loved Yan Martel's descripshun of the animals and zoo etc etc.. I wud have used it as a text book. no..i'm not being sarci.. i was very excited initially into the book..actually laughed out aloud many times. But later I got a lil sea sick.

I'll stop talking the day you start talking sense. Someone has to show the world that talking can be a skill.

Hain ?? It didn't happen ?? Was it all his imagination ?? Lo bhai, yeh book bhi nahi hui mujhsey interpret !! What I really liked about it was the way Yan M describes everything ... specially the comparison of the school of fish to the highway. Too great really.

Jhumpa aunty ne toh mujhey bhi khoob bewakoof banaya. Ek bhi story palley nahi padi. I think I shall go back to reading "Little Red Riding Hood".

I liked The Alchemist. And I just finished reading this book called "Who moved my soap ? - the CEOs guide to life in prison". Good timepass.

Yak yak yakkity yak ... do you ever stop talking, lady ?? :P

lizu: Life of Pi was too philosophical for me. Also the fact that none of it ever happened kinda bugged me no end. It was like castaway that never happened. But I am glad I read it, no doubt. Maladies...I felt like a fool after reading it... very plain English...even that is alright..but no ending? why shud I waste my time interpretting what happened to the characters I so painstakingly started forming and actually wondering about. I felt very unsatisfied. Actually a few stories were noteworthy in that pile. I guess I had too many expectations. Now dont kill me if you didnt like this "bone" book.

continuing..I feel very talkative today.

Actually too many philo and self-help books effect my tiny brain adversely. I read 'The Alchemist', 'The Present', 'Who moved my cheese' and 'Rich Dad- Poor dad' in a row and I was numb for months to come. I felt I wasn't good enough and needed help. Give me a cook book anyday. I can at least drool.

"Life of Pi" is ekdum jhakaas. I found it to be one of the few "un-put-downable" books !! But "Interpreter of Maladies" toh interpret hee nahi kar paaya ... did she complete any story really ?

patrix: When they make a movie out of it, I'll send it to u by fax. Its a nice book..it's a good sad..if u know what I mean. But on second thoughts, dont pick it up..remember my taste on books is totally different from yours. You loved 'Interpreter of Maladies' and 'Life of Pi'. I'll tell you what..read 'Red earth and the Pouring Rain'.

Manya: Just go and get it. It'll be worth the read. Namesake is good too. If you have been in US for a while, you'll totally relate to it.

Lizard: The book is not a murder mystery. So go ahead and pick it up..its good...well at least according to me.

That book was awesome, I read it a few months ago and I loved it... Yeah I agree it was a bit sad and depressing, but I loved every minute of it. The mother in the story reminds me of my own sometimes.
