Fall after a Fall
A bachelor’s party before the wedding doomsday
Before your first day at school you got a Milky Way
A cancer that started off as a Cindy Crawford mole
They close the bowling alley just when you are on a roll
Like your last meal before the death row penalty
You dig into the chocolate dessert to realise it is salty
Your perfect location for solitude attracts a crowd
The way a silver lining leads to the gloomiest cloud.
So….
I refuse to admire the brilliant orange, red and yellow
I’ll not applaud when nature performs it's best show
I shall tear my eyes away and close my gaping mouth
'Coz I know winter is coming and I can’t go south.

| Pallavi October 20, 2004 01:54 AM PDT Yeah winter in the south is a boon !!! :) | ||
| anya October 18, 2004 02:18 PM PDT ha ha ha .. that was good pompy! alpha .. let me find some spare time. | ||
| pompy October 16, 2004 11:10 AM PDT Today i have been practising this art Though most of it was No shit all fart And for that dear Alphu I owe you a BIG thanku :) | ||
| alpha October 16, 2004 10:50 AM PDT Pompy: For the first time, it was great rhyme. Apple: I have all the patience in the world, let me know when you actually understand. | ||
| Apple October 16, 2004 09:55 AM PDT Hardly profound, Alpha! Just incomprehensible! But I read the comments. Winter, eh? Maybe I'll read the poem again. Maybe, just maybe, it IS about winters! :D | ||
| pompy October 16, 2004 05:38 AM PDT Now that winters almost here I think you need the company of a friend, dear So come on over while its still fall And we shall dance, rock and roll. err howz dat? :D | ||
| alpha October 15, 2004 08:47 AM PDT Pompy: believe me its all very simple..now find a sentence that ends with dimple. Aar: :) bugs? But calvin loves snow..that where I differ from him. Adi: For breakfast? argh.. | ||
| adi October 15, 2004 07:57 AM PDT what weight loss program *digging into the chicken curry mom made* ;-) | ||
| Aaar October 15, 2004 04:10 AM PDT Here's another reason to love Fall:-) http://images.ucomics.com/comics/ch/1993/ch931015.gif | ||
| pompy October 15, 2004 12:56 AM PDT WOW! Alpha! Awesome! i wish i could rhyme/write-poems like you. | ||
| alpha October 14, 2004 07:27 PM PDT Prashant: I agree, Anya is nuts! Adi: Lets not get into the technical details, shall we... Btw, how your weight loss program going? | ||
| alpha October 14, 2004 07:26 PM PDT I have never been asked to coffee in rhyme But you've won me over, just tell me the time. Let the temperature soar its all time low Let the chilly winds from Lake Michigan blow It'll be quite warm with a friend beside you He who'll foot the bill and buy a present too. | ||
| anya October 14, 2004 04:52 PM PDT Alpha is crying, shes sad that winters here cold breeze and snow and windchill to fear Midwest winters are horrible, or so i believe It just goes on and on, never takes a leave. A minnesotan I am, have braved worse weather, eyelids freeze shut, skin turns to leather. Hot water and brandy, a tequila shot to boot, you're ready to face it; winter? My foot! Snowfights, icicles, and frozen lakes please pure white heaven, ice fishing and jacket's fleece. The reds and golds and oranges are things old, virgin snow is as pretty, though not as bold. The windy city is cool, lots of things to do, like meet over coffee, what says you? | ||
| Prashant October 14, 2004 02:14 PM PDT enjoy the autumn while u can.... no matter what anya says... winter sucks dude :) | ||
| adi October 14, 2004 01:46 PM PDT gee wiz ... poetry hai ya rhyme ... confoosed ;-) | ||
| alpha October 14, 2004 01:18 PM PDT Anya dear, I loved your cool take on this By writing poems, you take away my fizz I can wake up when the world is still gloomy and dark Dirty white snow rules 'Now where did I park?' I find my car when my nose starts to bleed I scrape for an hour, oops I think I peed. But thank ye friend, you showed me the way From now on, blizzards are going to make my day. Thanks for showing me fun things to do Winter now seems like a great season too Pity that I don't have a fireplace or a dog I might have to do with my oven and frog. Edge of my seat, I just cant wait for the snow to pour Its still red and yellow outside ... yuck! what a bore! | ||
| anya October 14, 2004 12:42 PM PDT winters coming and you cant go south, you make it sound as though its uncouth. its not that bad, you learn to have fun theres plenty to do even without the sun. make snowballs and snowmen, drink hot soup and eat lo-mein. sit by the fire, warm your hands, sip coco, pospone errands. play with the dog, read a book, chat with friends, learn to cook. skiing is fun, snowfights too, see .. it all depends only on you! | ||
| alpha October 14, 2004 10:22 AM PDT Apple: Good good..So I do make an awesome poet! when you dont get it...you think I've said something profound. *pats back* | ||
| Apple October 14, 2004 10:12 AM PDT WHAT WAS THAT??? Bouncer maara mere ko sab! | ||
| Aaar October 14, 2004 07:56 AM PDT Now I get it... One can find both counterclockwise and clockwise flowing drains in both hemispheres during all seasons. | ||
| alpha October 14, 2004 07:13 AM PDT aar: Milky way is a chocolate..you poor deprived kid. mole sometimes leads to cancer if it starts growing disproportionately. Zoheb: Phew..thank god! Leela: And become a laughing stock among the players in heaven..NO way! Fairy: You are much South than I am .*sulk* | ||
| Leela October 14, 2004 05:59 AM PDT Sweety, all the more reason to enjoy it while it lasts. Cmon applaud, applaud... | ||
| Twilight Fairy October 14, 2004 05:08 AM PDT poems too? good.. abt winters.. me's a summer person.. :-(.. n winters are here.. i need to go to some place south too.. :P | ||

| Zoheb October 13, 2004 09:49 PM PDT Yes, this could have changed my love for you. I am a mallu and detest mallu company. Its a long story .... | ||
| alpha October 13, 2004 08:09 PM PDT Fills: 'penalty' here may not be used as a verb. And yeah, I didn't need the explanation for DR. remember I kept track of his portfolio at one point...after he was captured. | ||
| the filler man October 13, 2004 06:42 PM PDT I like this "Like your last meal before the death row penalty ". Try framing a sentence "Danny Rolling got death row penalized". In case you go who is Danny Rolling? Our own hometown serial killer, good old G'ville, where it is the perfect time of the year. Our winters are mild... | ||
| alpha October 13, 2004 02:39 PM PDT Zoheb? Will that change your love for me? nah yaar, its about an older post about mallu mole..too bad you missed it. | ||
| Zoheb October 13, 2004 02:20 PM PDT Whats this Mallu mole thing ? Are you mallu ? | ||
| alpha October 13, 2004 12:53 PM PDT Aar, I see you haven't gotten over our Mallu mole yet. | ||
| Aaar October 13, 2004 12:37 PM PDT Aha, a poem, rhyme as well:-) But mallu mole made more sense than cindy crawford mole! | ||
| alpha October 13, 2004 10:17 AM PDT AmitL: I think I have a really rich twin in Dubai who has just promised to fund all my shopping expenses. YAY! Just turn around, I'm in your office. Chalo, lets go to the nearest mall. Ermm..I'll leave you with the belly dancers... Smiley: Yeah Dallas is hot as Hyderabad..I mean hell. Wings: *bows* Rash: Now that's ironic. manu: You think??? hmm..Need to work on you a little more. Zoheb: Adaab arz hai. hemya: Long time re..ekdum mast kya? | ||
